Primrose Hill’s Trim Trail: 1 of 16 stations

As an advocate of outdoor exercise, I am often asked exactly where I train my clients.

This blog is the first of an occasional series, reviewing trim trails and outdoor gyms around London, where you may find me training clients or myself.

Overview:

The trim trail at Primrose Hill is one of my favourites, located at the foot of the hill, beside Albert Road. Like all trim trails, the principle aim is to get yourself over, under and through a series of static obstacles. Rather than picking up a weight in a mainstream gym, your bodyweight supplies the resistance that will tone and strengthen your entire body.

Stations:

The 16 different stations in Primrose Hill park, make it one of the most varied and best equipped outdoor gyms I use. There are low and high pull up bars, monkey bars, incline benches and balance beams. You can perform hundreds of exercises.

Flooring:

The ground is well turfed and soft enough for floor work without bringing a mat, unless it has been raining and then it gets a little muddy.

Privacy:

The space is screened from the public gaze by hedges which give you enough privacy to try out new exercises without fear of falling on your arse in front of an audience.

Public Facilities:

Next door are male and female toilets and drinking fountains (at least, that’s what’s in the men’s).

Advantages:

The major advantage of this site is the proximity of Primrose Hill itself. This challenging incline adds intensity for even my fittest clients. During rest periods, we can admire the brilliant view of the city from the top of the hill or watch the great and the good of North London.

If you’re looking for an alternative to the harshness of Boot Camp Training and enjoy exercising outdoors, then we’d like to discuss working alongside you. Register today for your free personal training assessment.
